Typical Fit
The Bates Kimberley is generally suited to horses with a standard back profile and standard wither. The adjustable gullet system allows easy width changes, while the CAIR Cushion System can be fine-tuned using Easy-Change Risers to achieve an optimal fit. Movable girth straps provide additional flexibility for saddle fitting.
Condition
Grade 4 – Good Used Condition
This saddle is in good overall condition and shows normal signs of use. Moderate wear is visible on both flaps, along with minor cosmetic marks consistent with regular riding. These do not affect the saddle’s performance or structural integrity.

Manufacturer Warranty (From New)
Bates Saddles provide comprehensive warranty coverage from the original purchase date:
- 10-Year Tree Warranty: Covers breakage of the Elastiflex tree under normal riding conditions.
- 2-Year Materials & Workmanship Warranty: Covers manufacturing defects in materials and craftsmanship.
Warranty claims require proof of purchase, the original warranty card, and must be processed through an authorised Bates Saddles retailer. Repairs or replacements completed under warranty do not extend the original warranty period.
Please note that warranty coverage does not apply to factory seconds, discontinued models, or prototype saddles unless specifically stated by the manufacturer.
Second-Hand Warranty
All pre-owned saddles supplied by The Saddle Bank include a 6-month soundness warranty.
This warranty applies to saddles that have been properly maintained and cared for by the purchaser. It excludes accidental damage, fire, theft, misuse, neglect, and any modifications made by the owner or a third party. Any unauthorised alterations will invalidate the warranty, as responsibility for the saddle’s safety then transfers to the individual making those changes.
With appropriate care and maintenance, a quality second-hand saddle should provide many years of reliable service.
